It is an absolute must for every computer system to have virus protection
effective. If you have a virus that the your software can't remove, we have the
ability to remedy the problem once and for all so further damage can't be done
to your system or possibly spread itself to other computers.

Spyware and Ad-ware are a totally different matter altogether.  It can get into
your computer in a broad variety of ways.  Spyware tracks and records your
movement around the web, while Ad-ware causes ads to appear on certain
websites that relate to products that it believes you have been looking at.  The
Spyware program or file secretly sends this information over the Internet to
whoever made it, thereby letting the creator track what you have been looking
at.  This is where Ad-ware gets the information on what ads it should display.

Spyware and Ad-ware programs don’t delete data or cause issues like viruses
do, but it can slow down system performance while allowing strangers to view
your private information that you want to be kept private.

Ransomware is another threat that is rapidly making its way around the
Internet.  Ransomware is a very dangerous...  Not only to your computer, but to
you personally.  What it does is integrate itself into your computer and then
take control of what your computer can do.

At times these programs can remain relatively dormant and not cause issues
that can be seen, but at the same time can be stealing personal information
from your files.  Once it becomes active, there are screens that start popping
up telling you that you have many viruses on your computer and to pay a given
fee to purchase the full version to remove the said viruses.

If you enter your credit card number, the screen will then go away, only to pop
up again days later.  Also, your credit card will most likely not be charged.
When you enter all of your credit card information is being stolen by the
software and sent to its creator.  The best practice is, if you don't know what it
is, don't give away your information.  If you do enter your credit card information
into one of these programs, we highly recommend that you cancel that account
and have new cards issued.
